Hello everybody!
I´m Max from Berlin on a quest to master lightweight construction with box joints on a laser cutter. Lukas and I are trying to come up with an approach on how to build garbage containers and multi stackable boxes from garbage itself. We´re on this mission since almost 4 years now, since October last year with our own chinese 130 W laser cutter. Its amazing to see how Russ can cut 10 mm ply with 60 Watts while we are still having trouble cutting 7 mm laminate flooring above 10mm/sec while still having crazy amounts of char ...
Luckily youtube directed me onto Russ´s channel opening up a whole new world of tuning and tweaking of laser cutter setups which is ... no proper word for it here ... amazing!

I am dreaming of a 5 axis laser cutter to realize non 90° shapes.

Thank god this forum exists :-)

It may be the finish on the flooring, it is likely an aluminum oxide finish. I have had problems with prefinished plywood in the past.
