UPDATE: I managed to get the factory to replicate the error on one of their machines! It was trying ... I had to have a friend bring over a pc, download RDWorks, learn how to connect to my laser and learn how to use the software, and create two new files with different cutting directions. Sent it to them and they got the same errors.
They are contacting Ruida right now, it is possible they got a bad batch of 6445G". I imagine they are very nervous right now, having sent lasers out with faulty controllers. And since the controller cuts a perfect square, they wouldn't have noticed in their testing before sending machines.
So this is a big relief. I've asked them to try cutting the files on a machine with a different controller, but haven't heard back yet.
A big big THANK YOU to everyone who offered ideas and advice. I really appreciate it, and it's nice to know there is such a great group of knowledgeable and collegial enthusiasts here who are willing to help others.
Here's the files... I wonder, if you are interested in trying to cut them to see if they come out fine with your controller? And if so what kind of controller do you have? It would be interesting to see if another 6445G" makes the same mistake or not, and also if the files cut correctly or not with other Ruida models.
20B is 20 line pairs where the top and bottom cut in different directions. It is in this file that they do not line up.
20D is the same 20 line pairs but the bottom and the top row cut in the same directions. This file cuts perfectly on my machine.
Thank you again!
Any idea what could cause this kind of misalignment?

It does indeed seem to be a controller issue ... I wrote about it in a general reply. Have you seen these kind of controller issues before? I imagine faulty controllers could cause a myriad of strange problems.Pete Cyr wrote: Mon May 17, 2021 Not sure there are any more adjustment - sounds like a controller issue

Only a couple of time but yours exhibited characteristics that pointed to the controller. When the precision square and reverse interval testing can not improve the function it is pretty much a controller issue.Mike Naylor wrote: Sat May 22, 2021Have you seen these kind of controller issues before?Pete Cyr wrote: Mon May 17, 2021 Not sure there are any more adjustment - sounds like a controller issue

Our little laser universe is a pretty fragile one I am afraid. There is such a huge range of potential problems, many of which involve several components from [probably] different manufacturers of vastly different capabilities and different levels of... let's say, give a crap, or testing abilities.
Russ really hit the head of the [our] nail in his latest video on buying a Chicom laser- you have to realize you are buying a kit, which has been pre-assembled, by a mob of people with very different [and limited] skill sets and [maybe] one person who actually understands the machine.

Yeah, good thing I think this kind of trouble-shooting is fun. Never knew I'd enjoy being a technician so much!Gene Uselman wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 Our little laser universe is a pretty fragile one I am afraid. Mike, have you tried rotating the file 180 degrees, and the running it, so that lines 1 to 10 are below, and 11 to 20 are above, and leaving the priority the same - to see if the line join offset is the same, or also rotated?

I just scanned this thread, but it sounds like you are using LightBurn. If true, could your problem be related to this problem that another member has been having?
"Lightburn admitted to me they have a problem they cannot duplicate in 9.24. It seems confined to "fill+line" (scan and cut in RD speak). "
