JUPEY...

I found a new topic button. :D :D

I haven't found any topics on PEN UP AND DOWN function.

I have an automatic table so:

- What do u have to know about this function? In manuals just say that I can use it if I have an automatic table.
- How do I set the program to make it work?
. Is it useful?
- can I crash the machine with it?

Thank you all for the answers.

I don't have an automatic table, but from what I read about it, the tricky part seems that the up and down function are used after activating the z axis with the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys. Hope that helps.

Evening all, so I have watched the video, and have spent hours and days trying to get this right (okay, maybe not days...) but I can't seem to get this to work.

What I am trying to do is have a preset that moves the bed down by 4mm and another preset that moves it down by 8mm (I'm scoring lines of different widths by defocussing the laser).

Presently, I have to move it down by pushing buttons on the machine - having watched the video mentioned above it seems easy, but for some reason it does not do anything on my machine. I'm not sure what other info I can give? How can I automate table-down and up again after layer?

Regards,

Tim.

In RDworks go to the Test tab- the offset is what you are looking for. It will not read out in actual mm unless you take the time to do the calibration in the Vendor settings/ Z axis.

You must create a different layer for each value of pen up or down - select "advanced" layer parameter menu to access the pen up -pen down function

Hi Pete, that is exactly what I am doing, but when I set it to run nothing happens. The machine counts run-time on it's clock as if running a job, but it does nothing. Like it's waiting for another instruction or something.

Thanks Gene: to clarify - I want the layer to do it for me - so I can set repeat jobs and not have to manually move the bed (either button or test tab). The job I'm trying to do has three different levels to work at... and when I run 50 of them, it gets tedious...

It is.

If I set any layer to use "pen up" or "pen down" nothing happens when the machine gets to that layer - it just stops moving but continues counting seconds on the run time...

Kind of like, "Are you sure you want to move the bed?" OK/CANCEL
