I believe the 6445 is great- the operating panel is the same size- the controller itself may be slightly different, requiring a new hole or two. The Vendor and user files also interchange. Not sure about the stepper driver channels being different?

6442 and 6445 have different sized control panels. If you have a Top Wisdom, the 6442 will fit the existing hole, if you go with the 6445 you have to widen it out a bit. Height is the same, but it does require a wider hole.

So I just did the conversion. It is RIDICULOUSLY easy.
1) Back the config from the RD6442
2) save your Device Settings "just in case"
3) Do a screenshot of the Machine Info window so You have a record of your machine time
4) Number and Unplug all the connectors on the Controller
5) Install the Connectors in the same positions in the new controller
6) Remove the Control Panel
7) widen the Controller hole by 1/4"
8) Install the new Control Panel
9) Startup your machine
10) Restore your backed up config from Lightburn
That's it..... Took my at most 20 mins
It's awesome. Does anyone need a 6442?
