I just purchased a “used” red and black 80w that only had 29 jobs reportedly run. It came with 2 different control panels. One was supposed to be the original and the other an upgrade.
We put the original back in it. It seems that settings are off. When starting, it goes to one corner and attempts to keep going. Kind of like it thinks the engraving field is much larger then it actually is. When I do a test engrave, it will frame it, then go to bottom right, not engraving anything.
Do I need a whole new control panel or do I need to adjust settings? If it’s just a settings adjustment, which ones and to what? Thank you. Eager to learn, help very much appreciated.

The Vendor setting are what tell the controller the size, switch polarities and all the other idiosyncrasies of the mechanical machine. The Vendor settings are stored in the controller itself, so in theory, if you put the original controller back in it should have that information. There a dozen or so manufacturers of controllers- most of the info on this board pertains to Ruida brand controllers- if you have a Ruida [IE 6442 or 6445] the info you need should be in the FAQ section and the rescue files section.
