New CR5030 (Blue Dream / "Tangerine Tiger" Russ OEM) — laser never fires, 0 mA, first commissioning
Hi all,
I'm commissioning a brand-new Cloudray CR5030 for the first time (front panel reads "Blue Dream — Design by Russ"; nameplate reads "Tangerine Tiger RUSS OEM CO2 Machine", 500×300mm, 70W glass tube, water-cooled, manufactured 07/2023). Controller is a Ruida RDC6445S (LightBurn detects "Found RDC6445S"), connected via USB to LightBurn Pro on a Windows laptop.
Symptom: the laser has never fired, either from LightBurn's test-fire or from the panel's Pulse key. The panel-mounted ammeter reads 0.0 mA every time, and the status area shows "Laser signal: OFF".
At first, the opening RUIDA screen showed "manual" and now it shows "continue".
Already checked and ruled out:
Water protection: confirmed working correctly — status flips to OFF when the chiller is switched off and back to ON when it's running; chiller fills the tube and circulates normally.
Extraction fan and air assist: both confirmed working in manual mode.
Vendor Settings → Laser para: Laser1 Enable = Yes, Signal level = High.
Function+ → Diagnose: all monitored inputs (X/Y/Z/U limit switches, both Cooler protection inputs, door/IF protection) show inactive — no interlock is tripped.
Function+ → Laser setting: tested both "Continue" and "Manual" (single-shot) modes, with an explicit Laser time of 50 ms in Manual mode — no difference, still 0 mA and "Laser signal: OFF" in both.
No manual TEST button or potentiometer found near the panel ammeter itself; haven't yet opened the electrical enclosure to inspect the actual laser power supply directly.
Not yet done: multimeter checks of the 220V supply into the PSU and of the L-ON/PWM control signal from the Ruida board to the PSU (per Cloudray's own "Ruida main control board FAQ").
Question: has anyone seen this exact symptom on a first commissioning of this specific Russ OEM build (CR5030 / Blue Dream / Tangerine Tiger) — laser signal never going live, 0 mA regardless of mode, with no interlock tripped? Any known wiring gotcha on this particular build (e.g. the ancillary-power wiring for air assist/extraction, or L-ON/PWM connector orientation) before I start probing the PSU?
Thanks in advance.
