It looks good in corel. After using the macro to send it to RDworks, it opens with connecting lines all over it. Pictures attached.
So you still get the "load Data Error" but only with the one file - were you getting it with all files before to re-installed

Send me your corel file and I will see what happens when I send it to RDWORKS via corel

Something else to try - save your cerel file in *.ai - that format imports directly into RDWORKS from RDWORKS

My version of Corel is ancient (V12.0) but I opened those in Inkscape and there's clearly some nodes in there that aren't right. It looks to me like you need to go back and fix the original CDR files.

Import this file directly into RDWORKS
fixed file.ai
The one of the files you upload was empty, the other had stay vectors which corresponded to the screen shot by Hank and on my machine. You base CDR file is jacked. I fixed it I think - I am not sure what the bottom word is so I could have fouled it up as well (but the stray vector have been removed).

I think it is auto closing curves. How do I close curves without adding all the lines?

I've done this project 5 times now and I haven't been successful yet. I'm back to getting a load data error and it wont open in RDworks. I attached my latest try. I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure it out.

That worked. It looks good in RDworks. What am I doing wrong? When I have my version in normal view in corel it has nothing on the screen but then it is there in wireframe.

I haven't a clue - I am not a knowledgeable Corel user - I typically only use it to move png files into RDWORKS because it does not include a background when the background is set to transparent (unlike some other software)

I do all my vector work in Aspire - it is much easier for me to work with since I use it extensively for modeling in CNC work.
if you use Corel a lot - Doug Green make quite a few youtube videos on how to in Corel -this one may be useful for you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NAfhhBUCyY

He has dozens take a look

Cobalt Corner.cdr : Nothing on the screen because line width is zero and though the fills are solid, there are no shapes to fill (no closed curves). Ctrl-A to select all, then in Object Properties change outline to Hairline. Passing it to RDWorks via the plugin looks OK for cut, but fills just the middle of some letters and a bit of the middle of the design.

Cobalt Corner 2.cdr : The strange pattern seen by Hank in inkscape is there in my Corel Draw X7 too and is down to filling shapes that aren't closed. Remove the fill and add a hairline outline and it looks better, but it's still not closed. When passed to RDWorks it looks OK both for cutting & scanning.

The first file gives me Load Data Failure until I add the outlines. That's probably a clue to what's wrong. Remember that RDWorks only uses outlines from Corel Draw, fills are pretty much irrelevant.

To be clear, it's good in RDWorks after adding the outline & removing the fill in Corel Draw.

Cobalt corner 3.cdr looks good once you put an outline on it.

I was going to add some pictures, but life's too short.

I use Corel Draw X7 and RDWorks v8.01.18 on Windows 7 64bit.
