Hi
Well I thought I had cured the button problem which is now showing and operating but now I have a communication error message and will not output
any ideas on why the is occurring, when I first download RD a year ago it loaded and was fine and communicated with the machine immediately so I cannot understand what is so wrong with the latest downloads? any suggestions would be good?
Trevor

I assume you are connecting via Ethernet or LAN - what is the port setting in RDWORKs and on the Laser - if not the same that is the issue
If using USB is USB selected in RDWORKS

This is the clue to known that you are connecting via usb.
Sadly, if rdworks is not responding i suspect that your usb port in the controller (or maybe better your usn cable/usb connector) is failing
-Change to another usb port in your pc, and try again
-Check all the bucle between the controller and your pc. In the better case is not your controller and not your pc. Just a failing cable or a loose conector
-Change all the cables/conector between controller and pc
-Change the pc
-mmm, do more test because the next step is change your controller
Martín.-

Hi Martin
Already used 3 different cables, and used all three usb ports on my laptop, still same problem, the usb ports on my laptop are working fine with other items such as dvd and other plug in devices?, any suggestions?

I would suggest using an Ethernet connection- I fought with USB for a year or two before I bit the bullet, not problems since.

Hi
The problem is my laptop does not have a ethernet socket, it worked fine using the USB connection for the past 2 years, only gone pear shaped when the laptop crashed and I lost the download button from the import window and so puzzled downloaded the new version from Thunder, and then I had the start button missing which I have cured, but left with no transfer to machine. so puzzled as to why it fails to not send info to machine

When you installed RDWORKS this latest time did you install the USB driver? (it is an option at the beginning of the install)

No - I my experience when you install RDWORKs it is a part of the RDWORK install - it is not separate software.
the initial screen that displays when you click install gives options for various plugins such as Corel AI etc....but one of the selections is "install usb driver"
