Sorry, I still don't understand. What is "step movement" and how does it differ from "continuous movement"? Thanks!Chris Medcalf wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2020Switches between step and continuous movement, which needs a trip into the menu on 6442.Philipp Pap wrote: Sat Jan 11, 2020 What does this button do? Okay, so where can a guy download an older version of RDWorks?
I downloaded and installed .44, and i can't find the Cut Scale or Go Scale buttons.
Russ sent me a screen shot of what i should be seeing off of his .38. I have loaded the .44 on two different PC's, one 32 bit and one 64 bit. Can't find it one either. That or they've renamed it and hid it somewhere.
I'm about to switch from the Top Wisdom to the Ruida, but not being able to hit the Go Scale would be a deal breaker.
I have a copy of .26 I downloaded before I found the .44. Going to give it a try, but I'd rather be running the latest unless it's that buggy. Would love to find a copy of .38 just to make sure it's not me or my PC.

Update:
It's definitely something with RDWorks. Loaded the old .26 and all the buttons are there. Looks like they decided to reinvent the wheel somewhere between .38 and .44. Anybody have a copy of .38 i could get?

A press on an arrow button moves a discrete distance for step movement. For continuous movement, the axis moves as long as the button is pressed.Jeffrey Aley wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2020Sorry, I still don't understand. I am assuming that that button is in the Test tab? I use that tab a lot and have never seen it in RDw .18- is it in the newer versions or only in the 6445?
But... the 6445 uses the same RDw, so I guess the newer versions.

No, it's a dedicated button on the 6445 control panel.Gene Uselman wrote: Wed Jan 15, 2020 I am assuming that that button is in the Test tab? I use that tab a lot and have never seen it in RDw .18- is it in the newer versions or only in the 6445?

You can find 8.01.4 (and .41 on the second page. No idea what the difference is) on en.rd-acs.com - Download - Motion Control Systems - Cutting Series. I have Cut scale and Go scale in my program (.41).Dave Vigness wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2020 Update:

Yeah, been running around and forgot to update the post. I have .41 up and running on two computers no problem. The .44 must have been a bad beta from somewhere. Just chomping at the bit now for the UPS guy to bring me my new controller.
I do have one quirk from RDWorks, that's isolated to one computer. I use Corel for most of my design work, and have put the export macros into both PC's. Corel 2017 and Win7. On the 64 bit machine, no problem, on the computer on my desk, 32 bit, I get an error from RDWorks in doing the export. It still goes through, and the macro raises hell with Corel every time I open or switch windows.
I get a Microsoft VB error in Corel, and a .dll error in RDWorks. It doesn't seem to actually effect anything, but it can be a bit annoying. Any body have any experience with something like this?
I must admit, my desktop PC is one I install / de-install various software on so it could very well be that something else has done something in the past. Unfortunately I'm not a software guy, so unless someone can point me in the right direction to even start looking it's something I will just have to live with.

Is there a list of firmware versions somewhere? My RDC6445G came with version RDLC-V15.01.17. I'm worried that Google has exactly 0 hits for this string, and one hit for "RDC-V15.01.17" which leads to a post in this forum two months ago.
I'm also not clear what the firmware upgrade procedure is, or how to find out what firmware versions are out there. RD's own site is not very helpful on that subject.
Where would I find this information?
Thanks,
Scott
