Are you talking controller firmware of RDWorks version? I was talking RDWorks. Your .17 firmware is the same thing I have.

The 6445 contoller is quite new so I doubt there will be much firmware info available [if one is even available yet].

I'm talking controller firmware. Mine has an IP setup screen with only an IP address, and I know there's a version out there with another field - netmask, I think, or maybe it was the default gateway. Still not the full set of network settings you'd expect, but closer.
Mine also seems to output the 'Wind' signal in sync with the laser on/off, which really makes the solenoid freak out when it's engraving. Not sure if that's a bug or what. Thought I'd make sure I've got it up to date before I start complaining.

I have the same problem with the WIND, and yeah, it sounds like a machine gun. Move your wire over to STATUS and it will go on and off with the layer. The two act like they are reversed. Status goes on and off with the layer, and WIND goes on and off with the beam. I've asked through Cloudray on the WIND / STAUS thing for several months with no reply. I just chalk it up to a switch of some sort. Hardware, software, or labeling.

I actually came up with the same solution. The problem is that 'status' doesn't follow the air assist command, so the software can't turn it on and off selectively per layer. But it does at least turn it on, and I'm using air for everything I'm doing right now, so it's not a biggie.
It IS a little frustrating that no one seems to be supporting these things, and that for as popular as they are, the English language documentation is so horrible. I would volunteer a day of technical writing for the controller manual if the vendor would work with me.
If I ever get my hands on a firmware update and it's not encrypted, I'm going to at least try to replace the prompts with ones that make sense.

I believe there is a 'updated' version of the documentation on this forum, but I don't remember where at the moment. Gene could probably set you right to it.

The updated RDWorks manual is here viewtopic.php?f=107&t=3507 and I recently chased up some different/earlier versions of the software and uploaded it here viewtopic.php?f=107&t=3485&p=25345#p25345
As far as I know there is no updated or corrected manuals for the different controllers and yep Ruida's website sucks and blows all at once
along with the Chinglish translations of their manuals. Re firmware binaries I haven't come across a source other than bits and pieces and generally dated ones.

I poked through one binary I found for the HMI, and the image assets (in BMP format) appear to be at least obfuscated, if not encrypted. Whatever it is, it's simple and operates on blocks of 32 bits with no chaining. I'm not going to put any time into it until I see one that's actually applicable to my system so I can test it out. It'd make me happy to be able to set labels like "Enable Air Assist" instead of "If blowing".

If you want different prompts on your PC, you can simply edit Lang_eng.ini. On my install, it's located in C:\RDWorksv8 . There's an improved version of the file available on this forum (you'll have to search), but it's for a different version of RDWorks than the one I'm using, so I haven't tried it.Scott Miller1 wrote: Fri May 15, 2020 I poked through one binary I found for the HMI, and the image assets (in BMP format) appear to be at least obfuscated, if not encrypted. For our friends who speak other languages, there are similar files for their language that they might like to edit.
If you want different prompts on the controller's display, then you're right - you'll have to find it in the Firmware.

Tim posted the dimensions of the 6445 and I translated them into our awkward imperial measures [ and yes, I always lay everything out to the 8th decimal
]- and added approx measurements of the 6442 version. The face is larger but the body that fits in the hole is pretty much the same.
