I have V .18 and V .19 but they are too large to upload- PM me your email and I can sent a copy to you.

LightObject R5 controllers are Ruida controllers made for LO and use LO versions of RDworks, so yes, some mfrs may have 'special' versions. I suspect that the firmware is modified to only recognize the LO version.

Hi
Thank you for the other version I have tried it on two laptops and get the same result communication error, but at least I do not have to rectify the start button problem, I really am now puzzled as to what the problem is?, the machine works fine on the old version and up to last week on a later version, I do not know what version it was, is there something amiss with the way I am downloaded? I follow the online instructions, I download the software, unzip it, then press the RDworks V8 and proceed to install, it downloads then comes up with the small box, then I connect the laser to computer and press install USB and then when it tells me that is installed, I then press the install button to complete the installation, it tells me it is installed then I load the programme and proceed, so is there something I have missed or done wrong?

Hi
Thanks to everybody's support, problem sorted, I downloaded the V8 in all the various versions still same problem except the oldest versions, so I decided whether it could be the machine and yes partly the problem, I did port testing and it failed everytime, so after many attempts I went into Printers and devices and downloaded the driver from the net and this worked on the machine that was running windows 7, which previously came up with the same error code, so I thought great now my normal laptop that is running windows 10, failure again with V8.35, went through the same but again failure. however windows 10 being much more advanced came up immediately with the problem!, it is so simple I could not believe it?, the newer versions drivers are for USB 3 and the machine is a USB 2, a quick download of earlier drivers and machine running fine, 'at last' I am sure that this problem is going to rear its head for other people.
So thanks again for all your support and advice, I think I am a expert on downloading versions of RDworks! haha!
Regards
Trevor

So am I, it was driving me nuts, and after all that it only needed the drivers to convert from USB 3 to USB 2, so simple now!, but thank you for your help, I love watching your videos on how to do things.

Hi
Got a small problem that I cannot figure out, having downloaded the latest version of RDworks and got all the problems sorted, when I output to the machine now all the designs are mirror image, so I have to output in mirror image so it engraves correctly, did not have to do this before on earlier version, is this just a simple setting that I am missing? any ideas?
