No idea if the issue was resolved - the original author has not commented.

1. What speed are you engraving - do a test at 1/2 the speed you are trying to engrave when you got the wavy lines and compare the output
2. Check your drive belt gears/cog set screws tight
3. A picture may help us determine the issue.

Hi Pete. I still havent heard back from the company, but here is the pic. Its not a huge problem , as I bought it just to do cutting of mdf. My other laser in the pic is a Aeon Nova 7. Had it for 2.5 yrs and had no dramas with it. I use it to scan at 800mm/sec and then use the chinese one for cutting. Pretty good set up. I have a bakers rack to put the sheets of mdf in. Both work off one exhaust and the Nova's vacuum table still sucks well.

Hi Pete.
I should have said the scan in the pic is a 300mm per sec. I fixed the alignment but those pics wouldnt load. It also give little wiggles on lines of a cut at speed. Sometimes on a coaster, I will do a circle cut at speed just smaller than the coaster, just for the appearance, normally at 100mm per sec. Again not a real problem as, I cut the mdf at 35mm and it is a clean cut at that speed. I'm not expecting miracles from the new machine as it is primary use is cutting. I will be going over it properly tomorrow, at the moment it is busy cutting. The Nova 7 replacement is 16k. I got it as a demo for 10K, the new chinese one , I bought directly myself for under 3k ,thats customs etc all up. I am expecting to pay a few dollars if I want it to do more than it was bought to do, but I will see what happens. The power supply is putting through to much power. I have had to reduce the max power in the vendor settings to 45%. This allows me to cut through 3mm mdf at 35mm at 75%. The way the venfor settings were set , I could cut through the MDF with about 20% power.

Ok.
I am pretty sure you issue is bearings. Are the bearing lubricated.
There should not be any movement For or aft as the heads moves left to right While scanning the lines in your test cuts.
800mm/sec is pretty aggressive. Somewhere around 400mm/sec is the typical max speed form the Chinese machines.

1. Check the rails are smooth to the touch by running your finger down the rails on both sides....they should be baby ass smooth...any bur or rough spot is a problem.
2. With power off manually move the laser head last right and right to left....it should move smoothly with some drag from the drive motor
3. If you haven’t ...inject grease in to your bearing ...wipe down the rails with a solvent ...lacquer thinner/acetone/wd 40..and then wipe a thin ...THIN.. coat of grease On the rails
4 reperform step 2...was there a difference
5. Do a new test scan at 400 or less

Hi. Pete. Just to clarify. Its the aeon that scans at 800 mm sec. The problem is not with that machine. It is the new Chinese one. The scans are wavy at 50 100 200 300 mm sec. I will be onto it tomorrow morning. Thanks for working this out with me.

Hi Scott,
Did you already check to ensure the mirrors are solidly mounted, and the lens is also solidly mounted?
Is it possible that the bed jiggles a bit while the laser is scanning?

Regards,

-Jeff

Changed the lens. Put it upside down lol. Did everything but no difference . It still works quite well and I can use it the way it is. Just gives a bit of a different effect. But I am primarily using it for cutting. My thought was, the aeon can scan perfectly at 800mm, without going past the scan area much at all ( compared to Chinese ones) But it is 16k to replace. While cutting speed is limited to power and material. The chinese one is 100w and I am using it at 30-35mm per sec at 75% to cut 3mm mdf. Does a perfect job for what I need. My thought was , there wont be to much wear and tear on the motors and belts and tube at those settings. The company that I bought off is in disscussion , so I will see where that leads
