Love it... I spent all day yesterday learning how to model a face mask in F360. I made real progress and it is a great feeling. I am now printing prototypes.

Part Two of my larger project on a quiet Saturday afternoon with a few Coffees and now just on G&T O'Clock.

I dropped the driver under my flatbed scanner and then added it to the model as a 'Decal' (no thickness just cosmetic). While the bolt holes and overall dimensions are correct it is not or ever intended to be an Engineering model it is modeled for the purpose I intend so dumbed down a little. This will have the same stub type idea with the wiring it just isn't done yet and the Gin bottle is calling :D

The Model is over here for those who want a further play https://a360.co/2AozrQQ

Fairly major update coming up with Text in Fusion I found out about by hitting up Brad@Fusion on a recent live stream. This snip is from an Electronics forum I play on but it looks like it will improve Text for Lasering a lot :)

Just needed to say... I'm sick of Fusion Image me every time I try to do text on ANYTHING. |O That said... at least it's not Eagle. *shudder*

I DO like how easy it is to think in "extrusions" with Fusion; they make it easy to design a "silhouette" of the core body of an object correctly situated on the correct planes and just pull it out to the desired height/length. :-+

Agreed Text currently SUCKS on Fusion BUT during a recent live stream I hit up Brad about it and they are working on a fairly major long overdue upgrade of the Text functionality. https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-3 ... -p/9537505

The biggest issue with Text as it is currently is the bounding box not being fully defined meaning the text can be bumped stretched or just plain go wrong if that isn't done properly |O In the workflow I leave the text until nearly last then generally but not always define it so it doesn't go kaboom.

Last things in the workflow are generally Fillets and Champhers as changing the model proper after these often breaks them. If I want to change the model I roll the timeline back before these helps minimise the breakages. This took me a long time to learn and lots of

So I ordered a Ruida 6445G Controller 6 1/2 days ago and ex China it is sitting on my bench beside me this morning after a visit to the Scanner for a mugshot. Nice work Cloudray too of the shipping/DHL 8-)

Still tweaking it a little but there is a 3D Model to play with https://a360.co/2ZZh3J2

And this is where it is going. Hybrid Laser cut top and bottom panels and 3D printed sides as a corded console for my new Laser build. Still to be worked out will be a mA meter and some other assorted low voltage switches to make it all work.

Completing the last lump the 6445G Controller box. NOw I have to figure out what to do with laying the bits out :?

An idea of where it is heading below with some of the major blocks roughed into place.

I have not played with the wiring portion of F360- It does not look at all like my real life wiring . I am still tidying up, just received some wiring channel in the post so I can do more this weekend.

This is still done in the normal Fusion. The Eagle implementation is still at about BETA testing stage and it really won't do this sort of thing even when it is sorted out it is more aimed at PCB work rather than assemblies like this.

Moving right along. Mains Colour coding sucks worldwide and there is no standard but what morons in the USA decided Black should be HOT
fryingpan.gif

This is done to the older Australian Standard of Black as Neutral, Red as Hot and most important with Lasers DON'T FORGET the Earth! The Chinese in the past simply haven't wired Earths to metal boxes  If you haven't checked your own Lasers Earthing do it NOW.

Copy and paste from another forum but it is a very useful concept.
In a similar vein this concept model https://a360.co/2N9BaNb for Cross Bed Airflow on a Laser.

The Elbows were made using a Loft between two Plates. This could have been done with a Circle on one sketch and a Path on another with the Path function but the Loft is easier. ** For those who haven't tried the Loft function it will not Loft a hollow object it needs to be a solid surface.

So When your Loft is done use the Shell command to hollow it out. But this leaves an issue of the far Face still being in the model. Select it and do an extrude cut to remove it from the world and then you are done.

Take this base model use the rectangular pattern on it do some rotations and aligned moves and presto you have a model to get a concept across to others.
