Re: how to have accurate job time preview?

hello,
in RDWorks, the "preview" allows to play the job in simulation, and it displays the time calculated for the job (total time and laser on time).
when just cutting, on my machine, the preview seems pretty accurate... i believe this is consistently below 10% error, which is fine for me.
but when adding any engraving job, the time is always very false... the calculated time may be 2 or 3 time less than the real time! i believe that it does not really count the acceleration/deceleration phase around each line, but just the length of each line at the set speed.. on thin job (x width < 5cm), the error is pretty obvious.
does anybody know if there is some parameters to tweak in order to have a better estimate ?

Hi Sebastien, i realized the same problem, one week after i installed the 6442, because i work with the laser machine. I think like you, the problems are the Physics of head in the engraving process. Weeks later i decided to post this without lucky
Maybe my actual method will help you {all from RDWorks LCD screen software}
- I press "DELETE ALL" to clean controller memory (or delete many files one at a time)
- I send the file to the machine (then Press File -> Enter)
- I press ->, "READ mem file" -> Enter, to refresh the job. then arrows to
- I press "CAL TIME" (Work Time) , and wait for a "beep" from the controller (read time, then Press Enter)
- I press "READ" again, and then i read a accurate time of this job
(items in brackets are for a different controller)
I clean the memory like the first step because a lot of times the controller enter in a loop (not response) and the only way is power off and then power on... I do a cleaning of memory to get lower cases of not response
