Hi There
So I am that somebody that has totally messed up my machine. The laser wont reset to the right spot. The steps are out and the machine is clunking whenever you try and do a job.
I have downloaded the software you posted and imported it to RDworks and it changed the settings but it is still making the same errors. I basically have no idea what I am doing. Please help.
April

April, you need to get the settings into the laser controller.
Start up the laser (press ESC during the startup to stop the machine banging the head into the sides).
Connect yyour PC to the laser, and go into the Vendor settings dialog. 'Read' settings from the machine.
Now, you can 'Open' the file. Do that, then 'Write' the settings into the controller.
You will probably want to reset the machine when the settings have been written to it.
Assuming that the machine is similar to the one the settings file applies to, you should be good.

This post is a God send!
my cutter for some reason went mental, banging off the sides, not homing, only creating a 380x300 table image. I've now downloaded these vender settings and it seems to home perfectly now - I will now test a cut.
Just a note:- on the laser vender setting; should it be set to low? would there be any benfits in setting it to high?
Cheers,
Carl.

I can't wait to get home and try this. Mine is having comms errors. between Light burn and RD works. (I think)
It all started because i can set my Rd works in the User tab to do rotary but under the work section its greyed out and will not do a rotary function via RDworks.
SO I bought Light burn and it worked great.. I went back to try and do a flat cut, forgot to set something/stop rotary and I think My RUIDIA is fighting rd works and light burn. its only with a defualt file saved on the machine seems to still be running.

The Ruida controller does not know which program is sending it the code to perform. As to the rotary setting [there is a thread in the FAQ I think] it seems like there is a setting in the Vendor settings also.

Good evening,
I know this post is a little dated, however I am experiencing the same issues described in this post. I am a newbie to all of this. I am can not figure out how I write the vendor settings into the machine. Can someone walk me through this?

Within RDWorks, go File > Vendor Settings > rd8888 for password > Open. Then navigate to the location on your PC where you have downloaded and saved the parameters file. Click on the file name to highlight it, then click on Open. It will load the parameters into the RDWorks software but not yet to the machine. To send it to the machine, have your laser powered on and connected to your PC. Click "Write."
BEFORE loading the parameters you downloaded, I would create a backup file of the current parameters in your machine just in case your machine has a problem with my parameters file and thus you need to restore your machine to your previous settings!

Thank you so much. This was a great help. I have also found that the proximity sensor switch is broken on my machine from the x-axis banging into the side of the machine. Now I have a new challenge to tackle.
