Rebuild laser to router

Hi,

I have Chinese laser cca 62x47 inches and I would like to rebuild it to CNC router. Laser has very rigid frame, weight is cca 1 000 kg, there os Ruida controller RDC6332. I know how to control X and Y axis.

I have to solve:
1. How to turn on/off spindle, I guess it should be quite easy, it could probably be connected to laser on/off.
2. How to control Z axis. Now it only goes down/up to extreme positions.
3. I am not sure if I can use RDworks for this, so if not, which software I could use.
4. ?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Petr

I am not familiar with that machine.
it may be useful to search and see if the same manufacture makes a CNC ...then you could check to see how that unit is controlled.

However, I would be very suspicious if the X, Y, and Z servos were strong enough to operate anything but a modest router bit in wood or plastic. Not to mention the weight of a spindle or router on the Z axis is going to be magnitudes heavier than the system was engineered as well as your rail bearings . Someone here may have some more insight but your task is beyond my current knowledge - I wish the best in your endeavor.
