Simple Phone Stand

I made a phone stand a while back for myself. While my mom was visiting, she asked me to make her one that could be disassembled to carry with her on trips. This is what I came up with. It's pretty simple. The pattern is designed to work with 5mm plywood. I suggest using 5-layer plywood if you decide to engrave it. If you use 3-layer ply, the engraving will cut away the outer layers and it will break pretty easily.

Here's a link to a video showing the design and cutting process. I feel silly sharing this here, considering the audience (with 99.999% of you having more knowledge and experience with lasers than me), but I hope you enjoy the video.

Very nicely done- I notice two different locking keys, either will work but the compressible wood piece appeals to me.

Good catch - I did a couple different versions but didn't notice the other version was in the photo. Here's that wood spring lock version on the right.

Could you export your files in the form of a DXF or AI.
Unless folks use RDWorks Version: v8.01.19 or newer they will not be able to access the file.

Here's the AI version for the spring lock. The pattern is setup to cut two stands. Engrave & cut with the first job, then flip the engraved pieces over and just run the engrave layer on the second job.
