Hi all,

my name is Sascha and I just dicovered working with laser as a new hobby. Started with a 5.5w diode laser I now switched to a chinese 50W CO2 (the green one) since little more than a week. I watched a lot of Russ great videos in front and also did a lot research in front. After setting up and doing the first test cuttings and engraves I'm really happy about my decision. Still experimenting with different materials and settings.

Sascha

P.S. My main hobby is still 3D-Modeling and rendering and running my 3D-Community called 3d-board.de but I'm very fascinated of the new possibilities the laser gives me.

Welcome Sascha. There is some cross over in laser engraving a 3D modeling. I do more CNC carving that laser engraving but have found a way to laser engrave my 3D models (bas reliefs) that is fairly easy. the laser does not carve a model but the burn gradients give a semblance of a 3D picture when engraved.
