I bought this timing belt pulley with a new stepper motor but it does not have a set screw nor does it have a notch. It does not slide on the motor shaft but clearly is the right size.

Is this some kind of compression fit pulley? If so, how do I put it on without damaging the motor?

You might want to send LO an email.

A couple of users have left reviews that indicated a set screw is not a standard feature.

Three options:

* Send it back and have it replaced.
* Drill a hole, tap it and insert a grub screw.
* If it's metal (looks like it, but I'm not sure from the pic), heat it, slip it on the axle and it'll sit nice and tight when it cools. Don't expect it to come off again, though. This also assumes that it's at "almost fits" tolerances when cold.

Thanks, I took #3 approach and it worked fine. It is not going anywhere!

Thanks!

No problem, just happy to help. Heat fitting is, if tolerances are good, an amazingly good way to fit things together. The forces holding that pulley to the axle now are huge, much stronger than a screw would ever be.
