Power...

I'm setting up a new HL-1060 with a 100W Reci on a 6442S controller and getting some weird results.
Does Min/Max Power% in the Laser part of the Vendor Settings set the absolute limits for the machine? So that once these are set the laser will not use more or less power than these are set for? And so that when you set power to, say, 80% for a cut it's really 80% of your maximum limit?
As far as I understand from the RDWL Manual (and other sources) these are all true, but I'm getting conflicting results. Is this right?
I'm testing cuts on 3mm hardboard/MDF -- as a sanity check can someone also with a 100W Reci tube let me know what speed/power they use on this material?
