Improve your Airflow with Magnets

Clickbait title and made done with 'Special' Free Graphene derived Energy for good measure :P

Like most lasers mine has various ports and holes some needed and some 'what the heck were they thinking'. Some of them could be fixed with screws and a plate but most are inaccessible for a drill and in some cases even hard to get a screwdriver into.

So somewhere in my mind this idea came up. Use Magnets and Acrylic. Some of them could have been done with a second layer for hole alignment and magnets fixed into the outside layer but in my case there is secondary layers and other bits of sheet metal in the way.

The pictures are fairly self explanatory magnets and fasteners are from evilbay. I ran the outside dimensions 10mm oversize which allows a little wiggle room if needed. The magnets snap to as much of the metal they can so they self latch, retract as couple of them and pull the hatch out if needed. They are not intended to stop airflow just minimize what was flowing from a less desirable path.

With these in place I will be opening up some vent holes in the front removable panel so the air draw is primarily front to back over the bed.

I was wondering what those shapes were for- we are a signshop and have sheet magnetic material for people who need to take off their signs [ for when they are robbing a bank?] that also works a treat.

How does the magnetic material Laser cut and any fume risks? Any evidence of the heat causing magnetic (Curie Point) issues? I think I have some old ones I used in my last Burglary
