Laser Dialog Box on LightBurn

I have two issues with the LB software, First I`ll send a file to the laser, seems to be communicating fine with the exception that's it`s not cutting.
(This particular file has only cuts on it.) Secondly my laser dialog box seems to be unfinished (in other words unpopulated) See attachment.

Thanks in advance. Richard B.

Only just a newbie at Lightburn but I am playing around with it and a smoothieboard on the bench at present.

The attachment you posted shows the Laser as being 'disconnected' as distinct from my attachment showing as 'ready' so maybe you either have a suspect USB cable or you are not connected or the 'auto' port finder isn't finding your Laser reliably?

1: Try another cable for a start.

2: Open 'device manager' and check if the controller is showing up and what port it is connected to. Depending on your PC skills this may be in above your pay grade but under windows settings if you search for 'device manager' it will find it but it is semi hidden these days. Look down the list and see if you can see your controller. If you can take note of the port number as per my smoothieboard and plug that port number in instead of the '(auto)' in Lightburn.

3: I am out of other ideas so wait for more help ;)

A file not cutting is usually caused by setting Min Power too low. Start with it set the same as Max Power, then back it down if your corners are over burned.

The UI looks like that when you have “Beginner Mode” enabled in the settings.

Also, the LightBurn forums are the best place to get quick and accurate help. I don’t check here nearly as often, and my support staff aren’t on here at all.
