Control Panel

Hi all, My question is so basic it is laughable but, as we all know, that is the troublesome characteristic of the Chinese mindset.
The panel shows left and right arrows for setting the X axis and up and down for the Y axis. No problem.

Can someone please advise the precise sequence of button pushing to raise and lower the Z axis on this machine control panel??

Similarly, the software USER panel in RDWorks is more specific as it should be. It has separate functions for +/- X and +/-Y as well as "HOME X" and "HOME Y" which both work OK. It also has a separate function for +/- Z and "Z HOME" but it does not work on my machine.

Thanks Brian

press Z/U once, then raise/lower the table with left/right arrows. when done, hit "esc" to return to normal mode.

Z/U is also the button to enter the menu, in which you can navigate with up/down.

Are you sure that your Z-axis is controlled by the control panel?
Some lasers (mine, for example) have the Z-axis controlled by a couple of buttons on the side of the machine.
On other lasers, the Z-axis is controlled manually (you turn a knob to physically raise/lower the bed).

Hi Sebastian - yes, that is what I have assumed for the Z axis but it doesn't work on my machine.
Each time I press the up/down arrows it always affects the Y axis movement not the Z axis.
Similarly, the Z axis controls do not work on the RDWorks software USER panel.
I am currently frustratingly waiting and waiting and waiting for advice from the distributor in Sydney (who are waiting for advice from China) who suspect the Z stepper motor may be faulty.

Hi Jeffrey - see my response to Sebastian above. I wish my machine had simple manual adjustments.

Just as Sebastien says. Press Z/U and a list of topics comes up. Pressing the up/down arrows scrolls through these topics. When you press Z/U it will automatically come up with the "Z move" option. The arrows to use for raising/lowering the platform are, bizarrely, your left/right arrows!
