Hello folks,
Thanks for letting me join. Just picked up an 80w co2 laser and am learning its in's and out's. Also have a 30w fiber laser as well.

Have some experience with cnc and 3d printing.

Hoping to get a sideline business going involving these, but must learn capabilities first,

Have watched a number of Russ's videos(anxiously awaiting my dohicky in the mail).

Right now using autocad to design some adjustable laser tube holders for the 80mm tubes.....

Cheers,
-don

Welcome Don. RDWORKS is a terrible design software. Since you are already use to CNC and 3D prinitng I would urge you to continue to design in software you are familiar with and export your designs in an AI (ai) format. AI imports cleanly into RDWORKS. There are much newer version RDWORKS than the version you are using - I recommend ver 8.01.18 - in part because I use it but mostly because it is the most stable version I have seen and it does what I want. I design all my stuff in Aspire or Solidworks....I only use RDWORKS to assign power/scan/cut settings and send the design to the laser.
