Bending Acrylic

I was looking for tips (like defocus distance, speed and power settings) to bend acrylic (which I have never tried before), when I came across this fascinating video https://youtu.be/arjRtCjI9AQ (LaserOrigami: laser-cutting 3d objects)

Maybe there are users here that have useful information to share? :)

Edit:
More Info of LaserOrigami is found here https://fablab.fau.de/2014/03/laserorig ... sercutter/

I do a bit of this but do not depend upon gravity to do the bending. I normally cut the outline and then engrave an area where I want the bend and then move the bed down 50mm using the test tab and then engrave the same area again, which produces the heat. Pick it up and bend to a wood block with the angle that I want to end with.

I have also made plastic boxes to custom fit many things using the same technique and lately have been using the sheet metal capability of Fusion360 to make a flat pattern to cut out and bend on my homemade bending jig. This is my first try, I have improved

All my tries didn't look good. Guess I have to make a heat bender
