self introduction

Hi. My name is Alex and, like many here I'm sure, I enjoy making things.
Nearly a decade ago when the maker movement was gaining steam in the US I took some lessons on an Epilog laser at my closest makerspace. It was neat stuff, but the "closest" makerspace was still a long way from where I live! A few years ago I learned about the K40 and picked one up to fit my small budget and tight space. It was a blast! Designing things constrained to the tiny work area was fun and of course there were plenty of mods to do.
When I had more space to dedicate to the hobby I stepped up to a true 60w 7050 machine. My machine was used when I bought it and low quality when it was new - there was plenty of room for improvement. I've worked on it quite a bit and I finally have both a flat work area and square beam path.
