Hi!

New to the forum, stationed in The Netherlands , Engineer by trade and recently bought a Chinese Green Machine “50w” (aka 30-40ish watt laser cutter (500x300mm working area).

Not super impressed with the results so far, power output is quite poor (need to push the laser to 20-22mA to barely cut 5mm acrylic). So probably need to change the tube.

Already have ordered the Russ doHicky to measure the real output. Curious to know wat the results will be.

Thanks, Bye!

Bram

Welcome Bram- the good news is you have an 'expendable' tube if you plan to replace it, good to learn the parameters and mechanics of cutting and engraving. You may be able to fine tune your optics to get more performance from it and overdrive it current wise without worrying much about long tube life. The power meter will be very handy for determining where you are loosing power along the way and learning how to optimize your machine. Gene
