Refrigerator chiller

Larry Powell and I were talking a while back about using a refrigerator as a chiller and someone, I think maybe Tim mentioned it in a post not long ago.
Here is the chiller I made about 8 months ago. It has been working great. Inside I have a rectangle bucket filled with water and about 35 feet of coiled copper tubing for the return water to flow through before again recycling through the suction of the aquarium pump.
Next to the fridge is another handy tool, a shop vac to remove small cut parts and clean up of the laser.

I'm more interested in the 5 gallon bucket of vanilla ice cream!

Good idea to use a small dedicated fridge. The only issue with some of the smaller fridges if you are using the Laser hard is if it is a Peltier type they may struggle to keep up and cause you to have a defrost mess. The smaller milk/wine fridges come up cheap from time to time if you keep an eye out.
We hit 42C here again yesterday so time to cut a few holes in my fridge under the Laser to install the tank.

I sealed off the freezer with foil tape which helps somewhat. I try to unplug the unit every 6 weeks or so to let it defrost.

42C is 107.6 in real temperature. That is getting warm. Any thoughts on global warming?

Weather you believe or deny the basic science we only have one rock to live on and it is in a worse state than when I was born. Simple really work on reversing some of the issues we 'can' control to 'help' those we can not and 'hope' it helps.
Personally we Humans have screwed up by reckless greed, expansion and growth and time we pulled our heads in. Cheery thoughts for the New Year - pre coffee

There is an excellent article about how we [the boomers] broke America. Makes one proud to be a Boomer.

My resolution is to be a better human being in the new year- not a high bar.
