Ken, I am sure you are thinking about how necessary this is for a CNC router table. Focusing a laser is so quick and easy that I don't know how many people use autofocus [a lot of lasers have this]. Especially with engraving you often need a couple mm more or less from perfect focus to get a better engrave.

I have not had much experience with lasers.(week 4)
I have a Haas mill, tormach mill, 3D printers and have had Komo cnc.
The absolute coordinate with G-code is hard not to compare. I do miss my G54 G55 G56 for fixtruring.
Can you do this with Rdworks or lightburn?
The time it takes to produce is so much faster with the laser.

I'm with Gene on this one. Even I took the time to buy it and install it, I would not use it. Too many variables when you laser as you learn your machine and materials you use. It's not that hard to use a manual gauge for your starting point and only takes a few seconds.
