Issue with circles

Hi all. Wondering if anyone can suggest what may be the issue with this.

I've attached a photo of the issue. The green arrow is where it starts the cut, circled in blue is the issue. The issue happens regardless of the size of the circle being cut or the speed I'm cutting at.

Things I've checked:
- squared the gantry (this needed doing)
- loose mirrors / lens (made sure it was all tight)
- tightened belts / loosened belts
- tried playing around with backlash settings (but I may not have done this properly, so would appreciate some guidance on that if you believe it's the issue)
- tried changing the acceleration and jump off speeds
- cleaned / lubricated the pulleys / belts

I have not tried replacing physical components as of yet.

Not sure it is. I played with the backlash values and it didn't change anything. Plus, from what I can tell, backlash tends to affect the top / bottom / left /right depending on where the cut starts or the direction change begins. This is happening partway along. I'm now looking at the bearings for the belts.

Does it happen with a predictable regularity on larger circles? Or in just one spot on a particular direction of travel? Bearings would get the irregularity and specified intervals. A belt or some single point problem would only do it in a specified place. If you move the cut to a different point on the cutting bed, ie. moving away from the 'defect', does the problem follow?
