Hi All
My name is Mark and I live near Gloucester, England
I have just got my first Laser, Its only a basic K40 (at the moment) and I am in the initial stages of setting up
I have been watching Russ Sadler's video series and it is a wealth of good, practical information applicable to all lasers even my humble little 40 Watt
(Well 25 Watt ish at the business end in reality)
A little background :
I am an apprentice trained engineering technician but also ran a small Audio company for a while (live P.A. and some recording)
I have worked with and maintained machine tools of all kinds over years including some very obscure ones. A CNC rope making machine was one of the weirdest.
I have worked with many types of lasers precision interferometers, (ex Renishaw test technician) theatrical lasers, communication lasers, but I have little experience of laser cutting.
I have had the chance of doing maintenance work on a big one once, It was a 9KW gas assisted Metal Cutting machine that went through 1/2" thick stainless steel at at a terrifying speed.
So please excuse the many newbie questions I am likely to post
Best Regards To All, Mark
