So I blame Russ and myself for this thing that has been rattling around in my head for some time but having ordered a bunch of bits for my Larger Laser build sort of clinched it.

Still only a rough model without the vertical adjustment and slide mechanism shown (about +-5mm) and I still need to add in the belt grips. It will consist of two 3D printed vertically sliding parts and two lock screws to hold the 'C Type' 24mm OD Lens Tube and Nozzle into the head block.

Built to suit most horizontally mounted MGN12 rails as shown. It will also use the Aluminium mirror plate and adjustment screws and springs from the stock K head, some of the reason for this is to dissipate the small amount of heat generated from the mirror losses but also as it is an upgrade part people should already have it.

The major departure as above would be to no longer use the 12 or 18mm lenses that are standard with this 'K type' and use a shortened (50mm not 80mm) 'C Type' tube. This would allow use of any lens from 63mm on down including Russ's compound engraving set. I don't see losing the 3 and 4" Lenses from these generally lower power Lasers as an issue.

This will result in a much larger range of more 'standard' Lenses and Nozzles to be used and will most likely save some weight on the head from the stock K.
