control pad buttons

I am having occasional issues with the directional buttons on the controller.
sometimes I get only x movement to the right and the other x direction and
both y directions don't work. Sometimes resetting or escape will get them to work.
other times I have to wait after a job run and then they work again.
In my mind I think the membrane pad on this is either dirty or maybe
wearing out on the contacts. Is it easy to clean or replace the membrane pad and
where do I find the right pad for this. All the other pad functions properly.
Thanks for any info
Earl

Membrane keyboard 'repairs' are technically possible but can and do often end in tears  Some good quality double sided tape for re assembly and maybe you might get a little from this recent thread posting elsewhere on Carbon pad refurbishment https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/ ... msg3082768 I am not aware of or haven't seen the actual keypad available as a spare.

The sort of tools you will want. Scalpels, Tweezers Magnifying Loupe, 3M double sided tape, IPA (100% Alcohol), 800-1200+ grit abrasives a flat surface and a steady set of hands.

My general view is I wouldn't waste my time (commercially) with it as the odds are not great unless you are really geared up for it. If it is your own toy then the circa $100USD for a replacement makes it worth the time/risk.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I thought I would just replace this as the machine is 4 years old.
I will have to try to source one

I actually did this with a replacement from Cloudray, had no problems at all. Gene
