Bonjour from Quebec Canada

Bonjour everybody, specially french canadian!

I just received a Chinese AOL 1325 laser equipped with a RECI W8 laser tube few days ago and I'm currently in troubleshooting mode. The machine used high quality components but the assembly process was really pourly made therefore I'm correcting some issues before enter in production.

I bought this machine for my company that use acrylic 6mm thick to difuse light from LED attached on the edges. We were used to cut it with a panel saw and then flame polishing the edges therefore I'm expecting being able to accomplish all those steps at once with the laser.

FYI, I choose this chinese machine over the TROTEC equivalent solution mainly for the price difference (10,000CAD versus 120,000CAD) and I was expecting some issue to correct and more DIY learning but I'm more than impress by all the information available on the internet, starting with this forum and all Russel's videos.

Good job everyone!

Welcome Christian, looks like your laser is a flatbead? Your edge finish on acrylic will not look like flame polished but should be fine for good light transmission. Russ' video's are a great start and we also have a lot of good info here- look around and ask any questions you may have. I would advise recording your machine perimeter files before you go any further- details in the FAQ section. Gene

Hi Gene, I wondering why you think my edge will not be perfect?

When I was looking for information, I went to the TROTEC showroom and they explained me that they have two types of machine, the small one (speedy series) better for engraving, and the large one (SP series) better at cutting and giving better edge finish, this last being a flat bed.
