Greetings, dear friends :). I am starting this thread today even if i have nothing to show yet, just for the history. Yesterday i finally received some parts from China (100kg :shock: ). So - YES - this is for real now!

Here what we have here:
Image
-90W SPT TR90 laser Red dot tube - never saw anyone using one yet. Why?
-S&A water chiller 5200AH;
-Ruida RDC6445G;
-Full set of HIWIN linear gantry;
-4x Nema 23 no servo :( (XYZ)
-Z axis gantry;
-Blade bed;

I am going to buy everything else later, after i have the finished enclosure done in Fusion 360.
This is a new program to me, though i am 3D Generalist and worked with many other 3D software before.
Fusion 360 is very easy to learn and pleasure to work with. I expected it to be more painful and happy to be wrong! Here is what i already can do after only 1 week of learning:

My learning source was some Youtube lessons (they are very repetitive), and official Fusion 360 learning sources (they are too boring). So i learned it just by making stuff i need to make. This is the most effective i guess. Just learn interface and after that - read menus and search google if you stuck. Youtube is good for that.
I consider i am done with the learning part:) Next - to convert everything in 3D!

Have no idea how much time it will take. But my excitement is through the roof. Let's see?!

Lots of bits to unpack for you 8-)

Fusion in particular when you get a proper handle on structure of components, bodies and drive the timeline properly works really well. Nice detail on the Mirror mount too ;)

-90W SPT TR90 laser Red dot tube - never saw anyone using one yet. Why?

This is a fairly new development but it seems like a good thing. I am a proponent of combining lenses to integrate the red dot but this seems like a more elegant solution. Please post your thoughts for us when you get this machine up and running. Gene

3 years ago I started this project and successfully abandoned it since then, as I always do. Showing you its current state as an official goodbye. I thought one day I will finish it, but no. Stop lying to yourself Oleksandr, just move one already. And i am moving on. If anyone interested - I have all the components except extrusions, collecting dust for 3 years lol. It supposed to be silent (with thick walls), all in one system (chiller and air compressor all inside), no motorized Z (but I have ordered lift components too, just in case), since I supposed to cut only acrylic sheets, with inbuilt filtering system (3 step filtration), 90W with red laser dot, all designed to be used in office environment. Ambitious?
If anyone interested - I am selling all of this in Ukraine.

Admitting 'defeat' [not really but it is a mental state that is hard to avoid] is a hard thing to do but sometimes you have to give in to reality. At least you are not very proficient with Fusion 360, which is a skill that will last a lifetime. Good luck with selling your parts and your life in Ukraine, I am committed to support for Ukraine however I can.
