Brisbane by night

I haven't been on for a while and saw that someone deleted the forum??? I thought I would post this one again as it is a bit out of the normal. I just happen to have a lot of leather. This is a black piece of leather, painted with acrylic white paint, then using flouro paint in the places that are lit up in the night pic. Put it in the laser and presto, Brisbane by night on black leather. The white under coat makes the flouro paint stand out more. This principal would work with mdf. Just use a couple of coats of white first

Hi Peter. Its actually better than the picture shows it to be. That black leather that I use, is really good for just spraying the paint on. I have tried other leather and it doesnt stick on anywhere as good.

Hi Peter.
Here is a simple one with the same black leather painted white, on a fly swatter. Me and a few mates on the town.

Hi Scott,

They look great! And so do the fly swatters! :P
I happen to have quite a lot of scrap leather pieces, so I think I am going to experiment with it.
If I get some nice result I will post the pictures!

Have fun with your mates!!

Hi Peter. For best results make sure the leather is saturated with water. If need be ( for cutting holes etc) you can just put a piece of thin craft paper on top of the leather, before the cut, spray water all over it and then cut. This will stop any scorching around the cut .

So, Peter, since you posted the photo I think you need to tell us which of the fine looking gents you might be?

Hi Gene,

I wish I looked as fine as the gents in the picture haha, but it was Scott who posted the picture. But once I have my machine, I will make a fly swatter with my own face on it! :P
