Hello Everyone, thank you for the invite! I have been involved in laser engraving for the better part of 20+ years through my job. We use Universal lasers and just recently upgraded our 20 year old 25 watt machine to a VLS3.50 50 watt machine. It's a pretty nice machine! I love to work with wood and I've always wanted to add a laser to my little garage work shop at home and I finally did. Of course my budget is not the same as the companies so I went with a 50 watt laser off of Ebay. So this is my first experience with a water cooled laser, the Universal are air cooled. I also have a ton of experience in mechanical engraving as well as UV printing and a strong graphic design background. At 51 years old I've been a round the block a few times! The best part of buying this laser is during my research, before purchasing, I found Russ Sadler's Youtube video series which has been just awesome and that in turn has led me here. It looks like I will find some great info. here but I would also like to provide any help I can to others that I can.

Welcome John. Be sure to read the FAQ section and back up you vendor setting - there a revised manual here as well that doe a bit better at explaining some of the RDWORKS functions and quirks.
