Hi all,

I am 3 days into ownership of a rather big 1200mm x 900mm 100Watt laser cutter that I got for what I believe to be a very good price secondhand. I have a very long use experience in 3d printing and started plying with a homebuilt router about 5 months ago right in the middle of the hard lockdown we had for Covid. This probably saved me from boredom even though I was allowed to travel for work as my work is considered essential services, fibre internet industry is probably is essential when everybody is forced to work from home. Going out during that time was not a lot of fun. Anyways, the laser cutter now being my newest toy will mean that it will get a lot of attention while I figure this strange new world of burning stuff to make something and I can see I have a lot to learn and thinking that is going to have to be adjusted when comparing it to 3d printing world.
I have watched a good deal of Russes videos and find his explanations to be very informative and his way of presenting the info very captivating. Thank you for sharing all this info that must be keeping you bussy like a full time job. It is really appreciated. Now off to make a cup of coffee and get some reading done in this forum.

Cheers :D

Welcome Pierre, I would start with the FAQ section and save your machine parameters as discussed. I do cnc and 3D printing as well and have found the laser to be a very valuable tool- the more you learn, the more useful it will become. Gene
