Rubber Stamp Material

Hi all,

I have a 50W Orion laser from China and need to cut some laser compatible "rubber" stamp material. I've checked to make sure it is the laserable kind (no PVC). I'm curious if anyone has any experience engraving and cutting this. I have two A4 sheets (letter size) and they are a little pricey so I'm trying to get in the range regarding power and speed settings. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

i have some, and tested it.

one thing is that the rubber turns to a white dust when engraving. as you want deep engraving, you will need to set the power heavier than standard engraving.

obviously, you have to destroy a lot of matter, so there will be a lot of dust, but there is no fumes like when engraving wood. if you have time, i found it easier to have 2 or 3 passes with medium power than 1 very heavy pass with high power.

the thing is not very easy to cut after engraving, you will have to reduce speed compared to material of same height (for example plexiglas is faster to cut cleanly at same power)

also, that may be obvious, but MIND THE ORIENTATION!!! don't forget to revert text orientation, or you stamp will be nice... and useless.

Thanks for the tips. That’s very helpful. Planning to cut it tomorrow after I sort out some alignment issues with engraving vs cutting (they are sometimes out of alignment).
