Laser rounding corners too quick

I use my 150w laser for cutting .5 inch acrylic letters for signs. Lately it seems the laser is not cutting the corners all the way and I'm having to break the cut pieces out and sometimes it breaks the corner bottom edge of the cut piece or leaves it very rough. I think there might be a setting somewhere for laser speed on corners but I could be mistaken.

Any experience out there with this issue?

p.s. I am very glad to see the forum is still very active!

Increase minimum power. You should probably choose a power which will cut through at 10mm/s. The controller ramps up power from minimum at 10mm/s* to maximum at the speed set for the layer. If minimum is too low, it won't cut through at corners.

*unless Start Speed has been changed from default

Are you using lightburn? I ask because I think it has the habit of setting Min power to 0, or something low.

I use RDworks, only because I'm too computer illiterate to figure how to set up a new program like light burn. I run my laser at 40% at 4mm/s in order to cut .5 inch thick acrylic. Right now my max and min power are both set at 40%. I was instructed to keep the max and min the same value for all cut jobs. Should I increase the min to higher than the max?

If that's your reason for not installing, we do have full documentation on the process:
https://lightburnsoftware.github.io/New ... Setup.html

It's really quite simple. Download, run the installer, check the box for the FTDI driver, run the software. It will automatically find your laser and do a good amount of the configuration by itself.
