Laser Head Orientation

New to laser engraving.
I am using RDWorks software from Thunderlaser site. The problem I am running into is that when I set the green dot to Top Left it starts engraving just fine. But when I set the green dot to start in the center. Then I get a "y slop error". It may be a simple fix but I am confused.
Thank you in advance.

I have also used Lightburn trial and it gives me the same issue.

I'll second the lightburn trial. I work in corel and export to RDWorks.
You can ask on the lightburn forum, I'm sure Oz will have an answer if one of the users doesn't.
I want to say lightburn wants a bit more over run that RDWorks does, but don't quote me on that. I could be thinking of something else. If Ruida gets the camera function working in RDWorks then the only thing I could ever see using lightburn for would be the print and cut feature, but I'm not convinced yet.

That error indicates (based upon the machine calculation) that the over travel the laser head will move exceeds the size of the area the machine thinks is available to move in.
1. Check you in RDWORKS under Config - Page Setting - Page size to be sure you software know what size the actual bed size of you machine may be.
2. Assuming that is correct move the material away from the y axis about an inch or two and try that with the setting selected to the "center" alignment.
There is not a fix persay - it is just the way the software define the edge and factors in the allowance for over travel
Another option - although poor - is to slow down the travel - try a slower speed because that will produce less over travel.

If you're going to move the green square, you need to move the start point on the machine. The top left drawing will work fine with the head starting near top left, but the head needs to be moved down the bed to accommodate the top half of the drawing in the other case. The chosen 'position' affects this - putting the green square in the middle is never going to work with position set to Machine Origin, for example.
'Slop' indicates that part of the drawing lies outside the bed. It's 'Extend Space' that refers to the acceleration room.
