Issues with Z axis

The last time I used my laser I started having issues when moving the table up or down. It started screaming like an angry dinosaur every time I moved it. We thought maybe something was bound up but took the entire table off, nothing stuck or wedged. Checked belts and drives. All seems fine. Belts are not slipping, drives seem okay. I would appreciate any ideas on what else to look at. I'm a little nervous about dismantling the whole thing. I'm afraid I a may never get it working again!

TIA

I am unsure what manufacture of machine you may have - but I presume the belts drive 4 threaded shafts.....clean the shafts and lubriicate with a lubricant similar to "DuPont Teflon Chain-Saver Dry Self-Cleaning Lubricant" - good lub, drys so as not to collect dust and dirt

My laser is a SIGN-9060 chinese laser. It has 4 threaded shafts and belts to raise and lower the table. My husband and I were working on it this evening trying to figure out what the problem is. If I reset the z axis on the machine menu, it moves smoothly and slowly to zero. Zero is not where is should be though. Also, I can't move the table continuously by holding down the up or down button. The only way I am able to make it move up or down is by repeatedly pressing either the up or down button. While trying to figure out the problem, we noticed at one point that one side of the table stopped moving and the table was completely out of level. We didn't see the belts slipping or any of the shafts not turning. Could it be a communication issue somewhere?
Thanks again.

Ok..I suspect you have a belt that drives a gears locked on each shaft with set screws. As the belt rotates the shafts rotate and drive the table up and down.
Your observation indicates the gear on the corner that is not moving has loose set screws and or something binding the threads on the shaft/drive nut.
Check the set screws tight and inspect the shaft in the vicinity where the shaft and table mate for debris ...the area where the shaft nut the shaft drive the table

Thank you for your help, Pete. I have one more question. I've been looking for info but the only thing I could find was a list of what the 15 red lights on the Ruida board are. It doesn't say if they are error lights or for troubleshooting, if they should be on or off, etc. Light 15 is lit and 14 is flashing when the power to the laser is on. Do you know what the lights are for and if those lights should be lit?
Thank you again.
