Hi there laser wielding craftsmen!
I've been so lucky as to have the opportunity to have access to an anonymous Chinese laser beam at my local makerspace. I started applying it to slate, wood and acryl. My goal is to make plant signs from the slate and wood. I am not at the makerspace at the time of registering, and as such the details of the equipment it not quite concise.
As for current challenges:
* How to cut slate thicker than 5 mm?
* How to best clean optics?
* How to best make writing on slate visible/readable? Currently my best shot is cut mode with a very slender font such as DejaVu Sans Ultra-Lite 30 points size.
I see that there are many good reasources available here, and while I don't expect to post much, I will contribute when and where I have the opportunity.
The story of me
