Converting in Illinois

Good day, all.

I have a K40 for a few years that I converted to DSP last year. I am currently running the LightObject T9+ DSP Controller with their software and InkScape. I'm unhappy with the lack of support for this controller from LightBurn and the incompatibilities it has with drawings imported from InkScape or Illustrator.

I have ordered an R6 DSP R6445G controller to replace it - hopefully this weekend. I chose this replacement because of direct support from LightBurn and seemingly more active support from Ruida / RDWorks.

I'm located in Aurora, Illinois (outside Chicago). I'm retired and working at a local woodworking supply store. I'm into a variety of woodworking - particularly woodturning.

I enjoy the Laser but still get frustrated by compatibility issues. I have a hard enough time thinking up and drawing stuff - when the T9/LO then garbles the imported image I'm left less than enthusiastic about troubleshooting graphics quirks in the laser software. As a lifelong electronics & programming nerd I'm left with the joke(?) about using Roomba vacuums - That Roombas are for people who want a robot that vacuums, not for people who want a vacuum that happens to be a robot.

Welcome Mike - I too like things that work and become a bit peaved when they don't - and especially graphic quirks.
