Hello all - I recently acquired a Bescutter Versa 150 watt from a local seller. I have two questions...

First: The spec sheet advertises 1,000 mm/s max moving speed. While I would probably never want to push it this hard, Is there anything wrong with engraving at the max 1,000 mm/s speed, or even a more conservative 600 mm/s, assuming I can dial in the backlash settings?

Second: I have always engraved at 350 mm/s. The 150 watt actually seems slower than my Bescutter 90 watt. I believe the reason is the 150 has a more gentle accel/decel and it over-travels further than the 90 watt did. Is this controlled by a setting somewhere? I don't really want/need to change the settings, I'm just trying to determine why there's a speed difference.

there is a sweet spot for the speed of engraving. setting up the speed very high can SLOW your job.

also, you can play on 2 parameters :
- the overall speed
- the acceleration

you have to do tests on your machine, and you can set the values higher and higher, but at some points your motors will "lose steps", so the engraving will be botched. once you have found this point, you can decrease the speed/accel a little bit to have a security margin.

you can change those settings through the "machine settings" option, but BEWARE!!! do a backup before modifying any value!!!

also, you have to READ first, then change the values, then WRITE... never ever try writing directly. another advice is to change only 1 (one) parameter at a time.
