Hello,

i am using RD WOrks v8.01.34 and playing with "Edit cut property".
Now i have to cut / scan a piece like in pic screen_1.
After i edit the cut property and add first all the Text in the order i want the laser to Scan:

1. VHF
2. ACTIVE
3. TEST
4. TFR <-> FREQ SEL
5. STANDBY
6. COM

The laser is not doing as i understand it.

He is doing the always the hole horizontal line and scans from top to bottom over the hole width of the piece.
See screen 2 from the RD Works Simulation.

What did i wrong here ?

Matthias

The edit cut property allows you to change the order cuts are performed.

YOU need need to put scan on one layer and put cut on a different layer.
Use optimize path - you don't need to use edit cut property for the plate you are making.

when scanning with rdwords, there is only two mode

- normal : everything in the layer is treated as a big unique image.
- independant output : each letter/object will be scanned in turn (yes, even the letters of the same word)

obviously, in your case no mode is really relevant, as you want to scan "by group". you can't do this with 1 layer only.

so, select 1color/layer for each group that you want to engrave, and order the layers as you want.

or, you could try lightburn instead of rdworks, which allows to scan "by groups" in the same layer.
