Ruida Vision doesn't work properly
Posted: Mon Aug 09, 2021
work area 1500x3000mm
RDV6442G
Hik MV-CE013-50
Connected using Ethernet, Camera and laser are using the same IP Address
Camera shown in Hikrobot Machine Vision Software MVS.
Camera is not showing up in RDVision. While we tried a lot of things over the past year it’s still not working and it drives us crazy, we tried contacting the seller for more information but that didn’t help us much further. Everything in RDVision works for the laser, except the camera. It looks like RDV app does think that the camera is working since the connection doesn’t give any issues and you can make the test page, drag forth and back etc with the camera almost as if it would work.
Problem 1:
Every time when we are trying to use RDVision instead of our regular software Lightburn, it resets some configurations in the lasercutter. So, the camera is still not working, and if we want to make some new files, we have to reset the whole configuration settings to have access again to the laser since we don’t know what all the adjustments are that RDV did to the laser.
The issues occur are (only seen from the perspective when you’re behind the controller instead of pc):
Temp file is not uploading anymore, and if you start the other files saved in the laser it won’t start not frame.
Resetting the lasers origin will send the laser to the Y/X 0 corner, instead of bringing it back to the laser known origin (this issue is fixed, the origin changed to “No Return” instead of the option “Absolute Origin” that we use.)
Pushing the button -Pulse- does nothing.
The problems above can all be solved with a simple reset, but will take around 30 minutes to adjust all the coordinates and test for stability. Also if you reset it you can't use the RDVision anymore, if you don't reset it, you can't use lightburn.
Problem 2:
Now we have RDVision installed, including the good usb/utp software to connect with it. The laser is connected which means problem 1 will begin now. The connection of the whole thing is going though utp or usb to usb. We tried both to rule it out. We also tried disabling the firewall. The connection is made and we are in. The only issue is, there is no camera shown. The camera screen stays black. You can drag back and forth and the laser actually moves. Everything you see shows that the connection is good, except the camera.
We know the camera is focussed, since we can see the camera in MVS, using the same IP address.
