Engravings are coming out fuzzy when scanning?

I've noticed lately that my engravings are getting less crisp and clear than they used to be and I'm curious what the cause could be? We recently changed the focal lens but I doubt that would be the issue (it's a 2" lens). I've tried adjusting the mirrors to get a more direct beam, but I don't think that did anything either. Images of the issue on a new product I just made today (the circle, triangle, and square) versus products from months ago where it's undetectable (text and sword image).

I did have to reinstall RDWorksV8 after some files got corrupted so it factory reset a lot of things. Is there a setting in RDWorks that likely got messed with to make this happen? What could I do to get it more crisp?

(I work in a video game store and make lots of geeky merch)

Give this video a look and see if it solves your problem.

Also, is it possible your stepover interval changed since the software was reset? I believe the default is 0.1, but I usually keep mine at 0.0650mm. That's within the layer parameter settings where you adjust the speed and power settings per layer, in case you don't already know.

1. new lens means a new focal length - You may have to vary your focal distance to get the smallest tightest dot. I prefer to cut some lines side by side and vary the hieght by .5mm until to find the best line
