Hi All ... I am new to this forum and new to laser engraving / cutting.
70+ years old ... simi-retired ... and Live in Corpus Christi Texas.
Make custom pool cues and pens as a hobby for pocket money Using CNC milling equipment.
Have a lot of experience with BobCad and Mach3 programs but not so much with RDworks.

Last month bought a used China Blue and White 50w laser from a sign shop that had low hours on the tube.
It is the same machine that is in Russ's videos ... so they are very helpful.

Been reading and watching You Tube videos ever since to learn more about how to use this machine.
I have cleaned and set up the mirrors ... replaced the cracked lens ... and it seems to be working great now.
Makes a .01" width line in wood at its focal point.

Still have a lot to learn about the files and controller and that is why I joined this forum.

Welcome William, this is a great hobby and can be combined with CNC and 3D printing very easily, each has it's strong and week points. Be sure to save your parameters per the FAQ section, they are easy to loose and can be hard to replace as each machine is very different, even if they look the same. Russ is a fine teacher and we have very knowledgeable members here, as questions and practice- that is the key. If you are just learning RDworks- I would suggest you download a free trial of Lightburn software, it is easier and more and more people are switching over. Gene
