Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing good.
I own a Julong chinese 150 watts laser cutter. iv been able to cut plywoods upto 9 mm easily but now I want to cut 15 mm and 18 mm plywood with my laser. Iv not been able to find the right speed and power to cut thru 15 mm and 18 mm plywoods. iv seen videos on youtube where they are cutting 18 mm with 100 watts.
please help and tell what power and speed should I set to trhu these thicknesses without harming my laser.

what is your lens focal distance? if you have a short focal (2" or worst 1.5"), it will be very difficult or even impossible, because there is no way to get a "burn point" sufficiently narrow on the whole height of the material.

with a 2.5" or 4" focal length, you can obtain the result, but you will have to lower the speed, and have a serious air assist to blow out the dust from the cut path.

Plywood can be almost any combination of wood/adhesive layers. Some easy to cut, some almost impossible. Do you understand the laser tube current limitations on your machine? There is a lot of info in our FAQ section you should review. Gene
